Robert A.M. Stern Architects Collaborates With CF Stinson
I love a good match – Nadal & Federer, William & Kate, Holmes & Watson. It’s even better when a great pair collaborates to launch an inspired collection of products. Recently, the match that caught my eye is some of our industry favorites – Robert A.M. Stern Architects and CF Stinson. A dynamic duo, this collaboration began when Robert A.M. Stern Architects sought to partner with a company who could produce high performing and imaginative upholstery fabrics.
The Tracery Collection celebrates architecture and textiles
Architecture & Textiles Speaking the Same Language
Their creation – the Tracery Collection, a group of fabrics that celebrates the connection between the languages of architecture and textiles. The collection consists of eight stunning designs – Algiers, Canterbury, Delphi, Mali, Malta, Mumbai, Seville and Stratford, and are offered in more than seventy colors. The colors range from crisp, elegant neutrals to fresh, saturated brights. What I love most is the way each pattern reads – brisk and vividly expressive. These are highly usable patterns, perfect for so many environments, whether residential or the space that demands high performing products such as a hospital, a performing arts center or a library. CF Stinson is known for producing products that meet stringent performance criteria and four of the Tracery patterns are made with recycled content, which are noted as reduced impact products.
I’ve been familiar with Robert A.M. Stern’s product design over the years, and their team has always had the keen ability to express specific design ideas. Inspired by artistic screens and patterns within architecture styles from around the world, each of the Tracery patterns plays with scale, light and color creating perfect combinations. I’m excited to see this talented partnership in action, and even more excited to see what they come up with next.
