The Labware Table/Floor Lamp by Benjamin Hubert
The other day I taught my 1st and 2nd grade art classes the art of blowing air through a straw to move paint across a paper. For the young ages, the result was breathtaking when the three primary colors blended into one another forming new shades. Using our mouths – in the literal sense – to create artwork is an old hat for young designer Benjamin Hubert as well. The only difference: he creates mouth-blown white opaque glass to create his Labware cone table/floor lamp.

The Cone-Shaped, Modern Labware Lamp by Benjamin Hubert Fits on the Table or the Floor
Benjamin Hubert is known throughout the UK as the “current darling of the design world” after making his name the recipient of the EDIDA International Young Designer of the Year 2010. Additionally, his Labware Collection was the winner of the Blueprint Award for Best New Product at 100% Design. In a large conical table or floor lamp, the sparkling creative personality behind the Labware lighting unit combines science experimentation with dazzling interior design intuition, with a muse similar in conical shape to the Beira Lamp by Creative Affairs.
Blown in a solid white opaque glass, the Labware lamp by Benjamin Hubert features a oak cork bark stopper that was produced in Portugal. Beside the cork’s natural tone that adds warmth and depth, the Labware lamp also uses a braided blue flex and a white, low energy bulb that rests neatly inside of its 18″H x 10″W x 10″D glossy white bodice of a lampshade.
Rich in the anti-color of white with cork and cord, the Labware lamp by Benjamin Hubert is an internationally-recognized piece of designer lighting that rests gently atop your table or the floor.
