Kid’s Flip Chair Series by Daisuke Motogi Architecture
When I was in preschool we sat on tiny wooden chairs. In elementary, they were sensible chairs attached to their desks that would increase in size, but retain the same shape through high school and sometimes, even into college. In an effort to inspire the school systems at a young age, perhaps Daisuke Motogi Architecture was also thinking sensibly when they created the Flip Series of seating that serves more than one purpose.
Flip Series #1. Designed by Daisuke Motogi Architecture. Manufactured by sixinch JAPAN.
For Home or School: The Color-Bursting Flip Series Chairs by Daisuke Motogi Architecture and sixinch JAPAN.
Manufactured by sixinch JAPAN in three different versions, the Flip Series #1, Flip Series #2 and Flip Series #3 have three very unique styles. A high back chair can be turned over to become a long and low chair, a stool flips over to become a deep seated chair, and a rocking chair transforms itself into an armchair. Ideal for educational play areas where the mild study of shapes and transformation is one key to development, the Flip Series of colorful seating by Daisuke Motogi finds its place.
Since each of the chairs are made using a super lightweight urethane, they can be flipped by children or adults in a flash. Although the material used is important to any educational classroom setting, the size is equally as important.
The blue and orange Flip Series #1 chairs measure 500mm W x 780mm D x 450mm SH x 1130mm H when upright, and 500mm W x 1130mm D x 320mm SH x 780mm H when low. The cream and tan Flip Series #2 chairs measure 470mm W x 770mm D x 415mm SH x 712mm H as a chair, and 470mm W x 780mm D x 450mm SH x 675mm H as a stool. The magenta and gray Flip Series #3 chairs measure 680mm W x 810mm D x 340mm SH x 600mm H as a rocking chair, and 680mm W x 810mm D x 370mm SH x 600mm H in lounge chair form.
In rounded shapes with thick edges of solid, lightweight urethane, the Flip Series chairs by Daisuke Motogi Architecture and sixinch JAPAN can create a chair-turned-game for kids to use in educational settings and play areas.
