The Dalton Rose Collection by House of Hackney is up for the Best British Pattern Design of 2011 that will be announced to the public in early November by the Elle Decoration‘s British Design Awards (BDA). To win the contest for Best British Pattern Design, the Dalston Rose Collection must meet certain criteria being a beautiful, useful, and original new work created by designers of UK-based and international brands.

Like a Dark Secret, the Dalston Rose Collection by House of Hackney Filtered into the Interior Design Scene.
The Dalston Rose Collection shook up the idea of a traditional English rose pattern scene earlier this year when House of Hackney introduced itself as a new design house in London. The collection takes the same pattern that supposedly tells a tale of “dark romance and broken dreams” and throws it onto elegant wallpaper design, bed linens, cushions, lighting, china, fabrics, furniture, and accessories that needed a twist.
As the British Design Awards 2011 website states of the honored Dalston Rose pattern, “its shaken up our preconceptions about chintz… the dip-dye effect adds a defiantly modern, on-trend finishing touch.” Using a distressed version of the rose together with a very particular ombre and antique print method, the collection also combines monogrammed bed linens and navy blue flowers printed atop a nude background that fades to a deep black shade at the edges
Proud of its heritage being the stately English rose patterns seen throughout the UK and abroad, the Dalston Rose Collection by House of Hackney takes modern, glam, and dark to new lengths – and new furnishings – to create a broad spectrum of available products using the almost-famous navy floral pattern. Our fingers are crossed for you, Dalston Rose.
