Tolomeo XXL from Artemide
A classic icon of Italian design, the Tolomeo lamp is an incandescent desk lamp originally designed in 1986 for the Artemide company by Michele de Lucchi and Giancarlo Fassina. The lamp is considered to be the perfect balance of high design and engineering, and was given the Compasso d’Oro award in 1989. Since then, it has remained to be a staple in many office settings, as well as a favorite in college dorms. The original design has prompted variations across the years, with different colors, and now, sizes.
Tolomeo XXL. Designed by Michele de Lucchi and Giancarlo Fassina. Manufactured by Artemide.
From the people who brought you the first, Artemide super sized the Tolomeo lamp into an XXL version. This lamp is not to be taken lightly (see what I did there?). Standing at 10′ tall and with a base of concrete, the Tolomeo XXL is a lighting monster.
Available in both indoor and outdoor configurations, this epic aluminum lamp is a statement piece that is a 4:1 scale of the table model. It maintains the spring balancing that made the first edition so popular.
Go big, or go home.
