The Award-Winning Train Table from Steelcase
Earning one of the Best of NeoCon Gold Awards in 2000, the Vecta Design Team and IDEO of Coalesse continues to hear rave reviews in the industry for their rendition of a transformational table that appears to be quite normal to say the least. Modular, mobile, and ultra eco-friendly, the Train table for Steelcase was made far before its time.

“They flip, nest, roll, link,” starts the quick and fluid description that Steelcase uses to describe the many brilliant qualities that a table as basic looking as the Train shows off. Going on, they describe the easy break down for storage and mobility, if necessary.
Made using 51% recyclable materials and made from 67% recycled content, the SCS Indoor Advantage Gold Certified Train tables for Steelcase were designed with a strong will. Making a statement towards environmental protection and sustainability, the intelligent table designs use a laminate, or wood veneer surface that can flip up or remain fixed in place. This modularity lends itself to the manipulation of many into large conference room tables, classroom workstations, or single tables. Positioned on caster wheels that glide or can remain locked in position, the Train tables feature the option of an electrical or routing system built into its structure.
Refusing to scream for attention amidst more eye-catching designs, the stoic look of the Train Table instead relies on the primary intellect that Coalesse used to create it of recycled (and recyclable) content for Steelcase.
