Stunning Crystal Chandelier Installation by WHITEvoid

While some may accuse me of looking for any excuse to refer to Superman’s infamous enclave constructed of luminously sentient crystals, they’d surely have me confused with Jerry Seinfeld, for unlike that infamous comedian, I harbor no particular love for the Man of Steel. Thus, my unbound affection for WHITEVoid’s permanent Crystal Chandelier light installation in Moscow’s Tsvetnoy Market has naught to do with the evocation of Superman’s snowy fortress, for this stunning piece stands absolutely on its own.

WHITEvoid’s Crystal Chandelier is an Illuminated Monolith of Color and Light

Or perhaps I should say “hovers” on its own, because the hypnotic crystal chandelier is suspended some six stories high in the central atrium of this glass-walled structure. The chandelier is comprised of distinct prismatic elements, and if its wondrous rotations of color and light were to stop long enough to count, one would find 49 of same.

Said crystal-shaped modules are constructed of lightweight plastic foil with internal strips of highly versatile LEDs. The lightweight foil allows easy manipulation of each individual element (via WHITEvoid’s patented “kinetic light” winch), and the LEDs facilitate the Crystal Chandelier’s multiple personalities.

The above is manifest as the installation’s ever-changing display. Each element can take any color in the spectrum and can also be moved independently along the vertical axis through a seven-meter range. The result is an animated lightpiece visible inside or out, from nearly any angle of approach—illuminating the Moscow night with “everchanging shape variations, movement and light animations with individual impressions for day and night.”
