Kohler’s Flipside Faucet Comes in Four Delicious Flavors

Perky news correspondents flip their hair, staid football refs flip coins, lithe gymnasts flip their entire bodies—all of these rotational phenomena prompting me to inquire, what’s on the flipside? How does one arrive? And is life truly brighter there? If Kohler’s new Flipside Faucet is any barometer, the answers, respectively, are 1. another deliciously different pulsating variety of water; 2. check out kohler.com, and 3. yes. For what better way to begin your brighter day than “playing around in the shower?”

A User-Friendly Massage Showerhead

The above is Kohler’s catch-phrase intro to the hours of enjoyment proposed and proffered by Flipside. And though cleaner minds than mine might interpret the phrase as libidinously provocative, Kohler insists there’s no entendre implied—it’s just that your choice of three showerhead styles and four different massage sprays adds up to a virtual dozen options to enjoy your daily bathing. The manufacturer reminds us that conventional showerheads require a rotary adjustment that’s cumbersome, imprecise, and prone to scaling and build-up—so much more enjoyable and hygienic to just swivel and spin.

Flipside’s varied incarnations include the “elegant, flowing lines” of 01, the “contemporary, geometric design” of 02, and the “bold, black handle” of 03. Each of these is available in the finish of your choice—polished chrome or vibrant brushed nickel. As to the four faces of Flipside, they’re accessed along the disc shaped showerhead’s four sides (each cleverly assigned a name starting with “Ko”): “Koverage” offers a traditional shower-style spray; “Kotton” promises a soft dispersion analogous to my favorite t-shirt material; “Komotion” introduces a khaotic cascade from 12 different apertures; and “Kurrent” furls forth a calming stream.
