At ICFF: The QT Lounger by Royal Botania
At the ICFF Show, in mid-May, I overheard a couple of seasoned interior designers exclaim, as they walked past the Royal Botania booth, how many high quality, outdoor furniture companies are finally springing into the market, after years of ICFF with the occasional lounge chair tucked away into a booth corner. Upon walking around the show, I observed this as well. But at the same time, I knew that the one beach lounge chair that sparked their attention was the brand new QT Lounger from the Red Collection of a Belgian company called Royal Botania.
QT Lounger. Designed by Royal Botania.
Upon first glance, the modern, thin lines of the QT lounger by Royal Botania appear too light to anchor itself on a breezy day. But upon feeling the weight of the chair with the quality of the products used – with it’s solid stainless steel frame weighing 18.8kg – is firmly staying put. The arms of the chair are outfitted with plastic to keep them cool from the direct sunlight on your skin.
The chair bed material is called Batyline®. It is smooth and moisture-wicking, extremely resistant to tears, UV radiation, and mold, and is produced by a French company that specializes in the extrusion-sheath threading of the outdoor material. With Royal Botania’s QT lounger four colors of Batyline® are available: White, Cappuccino, Black, or the fiery Orange (seen in images).
Easily stackable for easy storage in the colder months, the QT lounge chair has five back rest elevations and measures 48cm H x 135cm L. The foot rest – which comes with the chair – is 30cm H x 50cm L.
As a part of the company’s new Red Collection – featuring a charming outdoor dining chair that could probably double as a colorful office/conference room chair – the QT lounger and its striking, modern lines are an exciting addition to Royal Botania’s classy reputation as the go-to brand for creating the patio of our dreams.
