Powell and Bonnell’s Phantom Pendant
It has an old-world vibe, potentially reminiscent of Harry Potter and Hogwarts. But on that note, I’m potentially influenced by the fixture’s name “Phantom” and possible association with J. K. Rowling’s fantasy novels. The pendant light was designed by Powell and Bonnell, a multifaceted design firm with its flagship location in Toronto’s design district. “An apparition of beauty, the Phantom pendant light fixture by Powell & Bonnell brings a luminous presence to any room” according to the company.

Phantom features a satin black frame (visually likened to rod iron), which supports six polished nickel lamp holders. Inspiration for the name likely comes from the see-through mesh shade and ceiling canopy that sheaths the fixture. You can probably imagine Phantom hanging over a rustic wooden table, since the rod-iron and ‘candle-lit’ aesthetic creates an old-world feel. Clean lines modernize the fixture, making it appropriate for more varied applications. The Phantom is 120V/60W ULC equivalent/CSA approved light fixture and is available in Powell & Bonnell’s metal finishes. It can also be realized in custom finishes, configurations and sizes. It is intended for both residential and commercial applications.
