Ramon Esteve for Gandia Blasco: Cool Chaise Lounge
If furniture design can parallel clothing design, then Gandia Blasco’s Cool Chaise Lounge is the equivalent of a well-cut black dress. It’s versatile, looks good in just about any setting and won’t go out of style. It’s an investment piece – not trendy or flashy, but something that you’ll come back to time and time again. Throwing on (or in) some accessories can give you a whole new look for a different season or occasion. The Cool Chaise lounge fits in any outdoor setting: the pool, beach or grassy meadow.
Cool Chaise Lounge. Designed by Roman Esteve for Gandia Blasco.
Comparable to Richard Schultz’s 1966 Collection – which continues to look “fresh and timely” today despite its 1966 birthday, the chaise longue (a part of the Cool Collection) is designed by Roman Esteve. The collection, made for Gandia Blascoalso of Spain, also includes a table chaise longue, bench, side table, table, stool, armchair and chair. The furniture is made of brushed stainless steel and polyethylene: polyurethane foam rubber covered with plastic in white, black or brown slats. The materiality makes the collection easy to care, durable and long-lasting. As with all Gandia Blasco pieces, this is engineered for longevity. The chaise longue’s reclining backrest provides comfort and the wheels quick placement. It is available with a removable yacht fabric cover. Comfortable, classic, versatile and sleek, the Cool Collection will always remain in style.
Gandia Blasco was begun as a family business in 1941 and manufactures modern outdoor furniture, indoor furniture and contemporary rugs. All items are still produced in their factory in Valencia, Spain where the company has its origins.
