Live at NeoCon: Soul and Lola
It’s finally time to get personal. Maybe I am feeling particularly vulnerable because we’re closing out day two at NeoCon, and I am a bit tired from being on my feet for two straight days, sleeping 4-6 hours a night. Anyways, here’s something you should know about me: I’m a hopeless romantic and additionally a sucker for English accents.
So it should be no surprise that I am crushing on Allermuir, an International contemporary furniture manufacturer based out of the United Kingdom. In particular, I fancy two items being displayed at NeoCon – the Soul chair and the Lola seating collection.
The Soul cantilever chair is designed by the award winning design studio of PearsonLloyd. The plastic shell provides a sophisticated, light weight seating platform that flexes and responds to the users' movements, resulting in a beautifully sculpted structure, creating a rich yet economic design. A simple translucent seat infill utilizes the inherent flexibility within the structure for enhanced comfort. With optional upholstered seat pad and a range of colored backrest options, the use and perception of the chair can be changed. The varied options available allow the chair to migrate between different settings and respond to moods and needs from dining to office, with a domestic feel, to waiting and conference use within the contract world, making this a truly universal chair.
Switching gear to my other crush, Lola is an exciting and stunning new design from eminent German designer Wolfgang C R Mezger. This charismatic upholstered range includes a two-seat sofa and chair (with dynamic four legged tubular steel frames), and also a swivel chair (with simple, elegant, flat steel disc base). The Lola collection is seductive, curving and shapely, yet strong and dependable.
As for application, these grand pieces are ideal for reception foyers and atria, or for corporate lounges and breakout areas.
So there you have it. I’ve put my heart out there on the table. Hopefully that’s enough to have you visit my lady friends (and by that I mean Soul and Lola) at their Allermuir show space.
