All creations by Nina Edwards Anker reflect a yearning for exploration and also successfully echo the current A&D mood. The pieces in the Arctic Collection may look seemingly simple at first glance but are more complex than one would imagine.
The Cantilever Table and the Vanity Table from the Arctic Collection are my absolute favorites as both creations break away from the usual frenzied lines and highlight Anker's experimental approach. The Cantilever Table gives an illusion of being screwed into the ground, which of course is not the case. Available in both stainless steel and acrylic, the Table blends into any home or office space and emanates a quiet aura.

If the Cantilever Table is solid, then the Vanity Table is feminine. The sinuous curves of the Vanity Table make it look like a stiletto heel but hey that's just me. According to the designer, melting snow and icicles inspired the Vanity Table, and interestingly enough the table surface also incorporates a bowl for holding cosmetics. Hence the vanity part.
The Arctic Collection seeks inspiration from elements present in nature and though Anker's take on them is restrained, she still manages to simultaneously reinterpret the classic objects. The Arctic Collection also illustrates how functionality doesn't come at the cost of aesthetics, hence my calling them "centerpieces" rather that just sustainable objects won't be an exaggeration.
