Via’s Mod Astro Lounger is Surprisingly Sustainable

Creating a comfortable sitting experience is a sustainable or “green” act all on its own, since a healthy person is a productive person, but Via’s Green initiative goes way beyond that.

The Astro Lounger, for instance, not only offers unique ergonomic features, but also conforms with Via’s comprehensive Design for Environment (DfE) framework: this is a long view of product lifecycle, assessing renewable, recycled, recyclable, and biodegradable content, while also practicing energy efficient production protocol and minimizing resource use.

Via also has a comprehensive chemical management plan and wise transportation policy—reducing fuel use and emissions whenever possible.

Astro offers aesthetic merits as well. The piece features a compelling throwback look, synthesizing iconic mid-century loungers and a mod futuristic feel.

And with Via’s textile finder, users can specify a variety of upholstery from leading brands including Architex, Camira, Knoll, and Maharam.
