The New Vertical Fabrics from Camira

A weathered piece of driftwood on the beach, worn smooth by the epochal passing of tides; the subtle flutter of an ocean breeze, unfurling the sails on a racing skiff; the warm, rich tones of classic red brick, stacked by a mason in the New Mexico sun. This isn’t the inviting prose of a vacation brochure, but rather the sensations evoked by Camira’s latest collection of vertical fabrics.

Timed to match the seasonal splendor of Spring, Camira’s vertical fabric collection includes three distinct lines, each of which celebrate the habitual renewal of this time of year.

Made of 100% pure new wool, Blazer Lite is Camira’s companion piece to the company’s best-selling line of Blazer upholstery. Blazer Lite offers the silky smooth feel of a lightweight felted finish, making it “ideal for desk screens, panels, and other vertical surfaces.”

Like Blazer Lite, the Lucia Line is made from environmentally-responsible 100% recycled polyester. With 20 distinct colorways—including the vibrant Caribbean-themed shades of Lobster, Belize, and Calypso—Lucia offers an engaging synthesis of a classic crepe weave and a bold, bright color palette.

Lastly, Emotion provides the distinctive personality of a textured, weathered look: “Recycled and cationic polyester create a distressed textured effect in the soothing hues of weathered dried out rocks, shingly sand, sea shells, driftwood and aged metals.”

About the Manufacturer: based in the U.K., Camira Fabrics is a forward thinking textile company that holds the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Sustainable Development. The company’s comprehensive environmental ethos stipulates using renewable raw materials that decompose fully at the end of a product’s life cycle; employing energy efficient high speed looms; and re-using over 100 tons of yarn and cardboard yearly courtesy of their convenient and efficient on-site recycling center.
