At #NeoCon09: HBF and Yves Behar Present the C Collection

Yves Behar’s “C Collection” for HBF—a sort of half-modular grouping that includes lounge seating, long coffee tables, connection tables, and movable laptop stands on platform mounts—lighted up the HBF showroom on floor 3 at #NeoCon09. “Known for design that combines technical innovation with expressive form,” Behar made C to encourage creative collaboration (arguably, the most used buzz phrase at NeoCon this year).

The collection did just that: the fabric sofa, whose side profile is sort of a geometricized “C” is nicely counter-poised to the rectangular, cantilevered design of the coffee table in smoked glass. Lest you think the deep sofa and elegant table move to far in the direction of “creative,” inducing relaxation and thwarting “collaborative,” the laptop stands bring everything back to center: their easy portability and thin profile allow for virtually any arrangement, letting you work hard while remaining at ease.
