“Spring’s greatest joy Beyond a doubt is when It brings the children out.” – Edgar Guest

Early World Nursery

The Earlyworld Nursery in Abu Dhabi by Room to Play definitely brings the children out. With its soft geometric forms, comfy couches, holes in walls, climbing obstacles, rows of shelving, and above all its lovely pastel color palette, Earlyworld is a garden of delights.

Beneath spherical light fixtures that look like outer-space vehicles, children can play among the pale blues, light yellows, and lime greens—navigating these light and light-hearted spaces that encourage curiosity, creativity, and learning.

Well-tuned to the rhythms of the toddler, the Earlyworld Nursery also incorporates a beckoning bank of beds, for the inevitable crash after the high. These encourage group napping beneath an expansive view of the city, its manifold mysteries providing fodder for daytime dreams.

There’s also an illuminated partition—pragmatically made for dividing space—but in actuality creating the effect of a phosphorescent river for even further flights of fancy.

Although initially focusing on educational settings, Room to Play has gone global with spaces for children in hospitals, libraries, shopping centers, airports, and private homes. What a delight it could be to walk into your pediatrician’s office and find a safe space where children are at play rather than whining and squirming while they wait to see the doctor!
