Kick it Off with Kubi
What better way to begin the New Year than with a new color palette? And what better symbolizes birth and renewal than green?
Even better, Barbary Barry’s breathtaking Agave Green is just the icing on the cake for her Kubi collection for HBF, a modular workspace ensemble comprised of “seven elemental pieces”: three tables, two-seater, lounge chair, bench, and ottoman.
Agave Green is a new painted finish authored by Barry—the ideal complement to the collection’s natural wood.
Like everything she designs, Barry’s touchpoint for Kubi was a simple artistic gesture: “It starts with a watercolor, it starts with a sketch, it starts with a line and a curve. I think it’s always lovely to have a strict geometry with a curve.”
Kubi’s lines and curves express themselves as both stand-alone pieces that are beautiful in their simplicity and as collaborative zones that carve out defined space: “villages” that “create a harmonious environment for reflection and connection.”
Kubi’s seating elements feature removable back bolsters with optional washable upholstery. The wooden pieces are joined with elegant mortise and tenon carpentry. Hidden metal ganging brackets allow rearrangement and reconfiguration sans tools.
