Yolngu Stringybark: Domestic Table by Manapan
Gather your loved ones around this Domestic Table from Manapan, a self-sufficient and self-funded enterprise owned and operated by the Yolngu people in northern Australia.
This table is made of Eucalyptus tetrodonta, a reddish-brown tree commonly known as Darwin stringybark. The variations in colors range from warm golds to coffee-colored tones, all clearly visible across the tabletop.
The timber is locally and sustainably sourced from Gumatj, an Aboriginal Corporation in Nhulunbuy, before being sent to Milingimbi Island, the largest island of the Crocodile Islands group off the coast of Arnhem Land.
Manapan is supported by ALPA, the largest Aboriginal-owned corporation in Australia, and makes furniture inspired and crafted on Milingimbi Island, Arnhem Land.
All of the bespoke furniture from Manipan is handmade.
