Just in time for the 50th anniversary of Michael Graves & Associates, ILEX Architectural Lighting is introducing three new fixtures by the renowned architect and designer: Table Top, Theia, and Fete. With their "elegant features in unexpected proportions," these new lights came into being out of need: "I was inspired to create this group of lights for ILEX because I needed them for my own projects. I am working on several buildings that call for decorative lighting fixtures that also provide exceptional light," Graves explains. The resulting trio offers "more sparkle." Table Top, Theia, and Fete are part of ILEX's Portfolio Collection, which features work by notable designers.
Architectural Lighting with More Sparkle
is a clever and playful sconce. Meant to resemble a classic table light, it features "a flared, blown glass shade and cylindrical stepped stem perched atop an integrated wall-mounted ledge." The shade is formed out of single cast glass and houses an LED source. Table Top is available in various finishes, including Architectural Bronze, Antique Brass, and Brushed or Polished Nickel.
Named after the Greek word for goddess, Theia is captivating and theatrical. With large-format shades in configurations of three or four, Theia offers lots of illumination and shiny metal. The light source is either incandescent or fluorescent. Fete, the third design by Graves, is a drum-shaped pendant with smooth tubular columns. Fete comes in matte or shiny metal finishes with incandescent, fluorescent, or LED options.
