Designer William Lee Creates Living Wall System

Designer William Lee Creates Living Wall System

In an effort to take the boredom out of building facades, designer William Lee created an exterior tile cladding system that creates living wall systems. The tiles control and manipulates plant growth to create a pattern without harming the existing ecosystem growing on the side of a building. They attach to the facade with hooks, making them easily removable to allow maintenance of the building and removal of dead plants.

Lee hopes his system will not only make for interesting design for building exteriors, but also help buildings integrate better into the natural environment. He also hopes to achieve visual harmony without expert gardeners.
