Curvy Kitchen: Dune by Pedini

Italian kitchen company Pedini produces a sinuous wonder named Dune, which is modeled after “flowing forms found in nature.” The cabinet system uses no handles, which keeps the profile clean and smooth—much like the sandy waves of beachfront dunes. To open the base unit cabinets, simply reach into a groove on the edge of the extra thick 23mm front panel. To open the tall units, there is a groove in the vertical aluminum profile. Dune’s curved units feature cleverly crafted drawers that do not compromise “the environment, ergonomics, or functionality.”

In keeping with the aesthetic inspiration behind Dune, the cabinets are available in natural or stained eco-friendly walnut. In natural walnut, the shapely Dune island stands like a sloped hill of sand. If you want a more daring look, Dune comes in matte, high gloss, and textured lacquer in any color. The Dune curved island in high gloss yellow resembles a slice of lemon, giving a touch of tartness to the kitchen footprint. The Dune collection comes with aluminum profiles and plinths in white, gray, black, or matte silver; and complementary glass fronts come with a walnut frame and six colors of mirror glass.
