I Sestrieri from the Acqua Aalta Collection

The I Sestrieri textiles are part of the new Acqua Aalta Collection by designers Giorgia Zanellato and Daniele Bortotto, which also includes a table lamp and a scent diffuser. Meaning "High water" in Italian, the Acqua Aalta Collection celebrates the city of Venice and the its connection with water and craftsmanship.

I Sestrieri pays homage to Venice’s architecture and its long history of luxury textile manufacture.

For the I Sestrieri textiles, the designers tried to recreate the timeworn colors and textures that have appeared on the plasters and marbles of Venice’s city walls due to the erosive action of sea water.

The designers explain: “After a long research along the streets of Venice, trying to capture the most different combinations of colors gradients and textures, we developed several patterns to create a collection of textiles to be expressed in a variety of uses, from curtains to furniture covering.”

I Sestrieri was researched and developed in collaboration with Venetian fabric house Rubelli.
