This October, Moroso presented a new collection and exhibition by architect and designer Marc Thorpe at its New York City showroom called Blurred Limits. The pieces of the collection, such as the statement Blur sofa and armchair, are currently in production by Moroso, and the entire exhibit is meant to show how designers and manufacturers collaborate to “push the limits of technology, material, form and space.”

The Blur sofa made is U.S. debut at the exhibition. It’s made from fabric knitting, a new technique that helps the material appear to have a gradient pattern, making the entire piece look as if it’s slowly fading away.

"Blur is a study of invisibility," Thorpe says. "Through material suggestion of disappearance, the Blur Sofa questions its objectivity, scale and relationship between figure and ground."

Other pieces in the collection include Mark Table, the Morning Glory Table, and the Ratio part table. The collection is set to be available in 2014.
