Something to Talk About: Arne Jacobsen’s Tongue Chair by Howe
Designed shortly after Arne Jacobsen's famous Ant Chair, the Tongue Chair never really took off: "You see, the cutely named Tongue (AJ 3102) is a Danish design classic that went missing"-until now. Howe has given the Tongue new life by producing it faithfully, according to Jacobsen's original design.
Simple & Slender Scandinavian Design is Cool for School
With its tongue-shaped form and its sleek legs, the Tongue Chair is lightweight and compact. These characteristics make it an excellent choice for education and corporate venues, where the Tongue can help maximize seating without taking up too much floor space. This "very original design from a very original designer" can brighten classrooms with its cute silhouette and colorful details.
The Tongue Chair comes standard in various finishes-veneer, leather, and fabric-with leg options in chrome or powder-coated steel in black or white. Howe's standard fabric is Divina MD in Light Pink, Mint Blue, Ochre, and Sand. The Tongue's Savanne Leather is available in Black, Cognac, Coffee, and Wine Red.
