Duravit Revisits the Starck 2 Collection
's Starck 2 line became an instant classic when it launched back in 1998. For 2013, designer Philippe Starck has updated the organic, water-inspired collection for the 21st century, with new and refined shower trays, a washbasin and a bath tub.
The new Starck 2 Collection maintains the spirit of the original series, but features updated interpretations and incorporates recent design innovations.
The former circular shape of the Starck 2 ceramic washbasin has been slightly altered to a more organic oval shape. The design maintains its comfortably large and convenient depth, but the base of the bowl is now flat and sweeps vertically upwards through gently rounded corners.
A sophisticated rectangular bath tub with a prominent, integrated neckrest is also a new addition to the updated Starck 2 line. Its rectangular form features precisely engineered, clean, strong angles that are nearly impossible to achieve in acrylic.
The new Starck Slimline shower trays have a flat installation height, that reduces the rim to 4/5 of an inch and make it ideal for all standard shower enclosures. In addition to a rectangular variant, the Starck Slimline shower trays are also available in a quadrant-shape to comply with both national and international building standards.
