Canevas Collection by Charlotte Lancelot for Gan Rugs
Belgium designer Charlotte Lancelot has designed a cross stitch-inspired collection of rugs and soft accessories for Spanish brand GAN rugs that mixes old techniques with modern design.
Canevas cleverly mixes old craft with pixelated digital imagery
Brightly colored threads are interwoven into a perforated felt base to create a textural patterns. There are three rug designs in the collection including a large-scale floral pattern that’s not dissimilar from one you might find on a more traditional tufted carpet, but Lancelot’s designs are anything but traditional. From a distance the cross stitching has a clever time-worn effect, further adding to the theme of juxtaposing old with new.
Made of 100% wool, the collection is composed of rugs, cushions and modular poufs.
