Sketch by Davis Furniture
Founded in 1944 by brother-and-sister team John and Dorothy Davis, Davis Furniture has adapted with the times, bringing new family members into its team with each generation. Likewise, the company continues to add new generations of furniture with an eye toward future growth. One of the latest additions is Sketch, a collection of versatile conference chairs designed by Burkhard Vogtherr and Jonathan Prestwich.
The collection’s horizontal back seam encourages designers to combine upholstery fabrics
Designed to work in a range of office spaces, from conference rooms to lounge areas, Sketch is constructed for comfort with several layers of foam applied to a bent plywood shell, and a seat pan molded to conceal extra layers of cushioning.
Designers can choose from a high-back option, in addition to models with elliptical legs available in oak or walnut options, or sled or cross-framed bases. All are available in chrome and powder-coated finishes. To encourage the use of multiple fabrics, Vogtherr and Prestwich framed Sketch with a horizontal top-stitch detail running the length of the chair’s arms and back.
