38 Series by Bocci
With the recent trend for terrariums and bringing the outside indoors, we are seeing more and more products that have nature built in. Case in point, the 38 Series by Bocci, a Surrealist-inspired development of Bocci’s successful 28 Series, elaborating on the previous design with the addition of plants.
The design features impressive arrangements of white glass planters and clear glass lights, suspended by stiff copper tubing.
Designed by Bocci’s creative director Omer Abel, the impressive manufacturing process pushes glass blowing to its limits. Large glass spheres are blown, and then a multitude of white cavities are introduced into them haphazardly, creating interesting intersections and collisions. The white cavities are used to house succulents, cacti plantings and lighting elements. There are two or three lighting elements per large sphere, and one or two planters.
