Homey Handcrafting: Freehand Collection by Pallas Textiles
Leave it to Pallas Textiles and its signature designer Laura Guido Clark to come up with yet another collection of contract fabrics that is unique in concept and design. The new Freehand Collection pays tribute to handwork and crafting techniques, everything from block printing to crocheting: “These patterns respond to the human desire to revive hand-made techniques in a world of high-tech manufacturing.”
Intricate Patterns in an Intense Palette
The five patterns of Freehand celebrate specific techniques: Hooked, Criss Crossing, Laced Up, Block Party, and Stamped Out. Hooked honors the art of crochet. The fabric’s “lyrical looping doilies” get a modern twist with vibrant colors like Mango and Ocean. Criss Crossing uses those inimitable X’s made famous by cross-stitch. Layers of small and large X’s create a multi-dimensional floral design that’s fresh and funky. And Stamped Out takes its cues from rubber stamps. The overlaid squares and circles of this fabric feature “sophisticated layering effects…creating a watercolor look.”
As with most Pallas Textiles, fabrics in the Freehand Collection include both high-performance and sustainable materials. For pricing and purchasing information, call 800-4-PALLAS or visit www.pallastextiles.com.
