Collect Vanity by WIS Design for Schönbuch
In 2009, WIS Design presented their Collect Chest of Drawers, a playful array of drawers of varying sizes available in smooth lacquered and wood finishes. This year, the Collect family has grown to include a vanity. All the Collect furniture was designed by Lisa Wid©n and Anna Irinarchos, the pair that constitute the inventive and spirited WIS Design, who do everything from interior and graphic to product design. And they do it all with an eye toward artistry: “Our aim is to bring wisdom and poetry to the every day objects that surround us.”
Collect Vanity. Designed by WIS Design for Schönbuch.
Collect Vanity was created for Schönbuch, the company that concentrates on “functional solutions and furnishing concepts for the entrance area.” From urban lofts to contract furniture–and even “detached houses in rural areas”–Schönbuch abides by one simple principle: “Feel welcome.” They concentrate on hallway and lobby systems, innovative storage of all shapes, sizes, and silhouettes. The company tends toward more spare, sleek designs, with closets as a stand-out (and modern-day hangers to boot).
One of Schönbuch’s freestanding pieces of furniture, Collect Vanity goes beyond the foyer and into the bedroom or bath, where it fulfills a feminine function. Drawers hold everything from eyeliner and lipstick to cotton balls and powder puffs. Jewelry, perfume–you name it. The built-in mirror rises from its hinges, unfolding a vanity fit for a vixen. Despite its many compartments, Collect Vanity is anything but fussy, maintaining Schönbuch’s belief that “function is always the creative stimulus.”
