WABUZ World tag Wallpaper
Cayuga tribe member Ashley J. McDonald rounds out our celebration of indigenous heritage with tag, an expressionistic wallcovering that partakes of the designer’s disposition for geometric shapes and the elemental line.
The Cayuga are one of the original constituents of the five nations that constitute the Iroquois in upstate New York, along the shores of Cayuga and the Finger Lakes.
Looking at the geography of that particular region, there’s something fitting about McDonald’s aesthetic, as much or her work partakes of hieroglyphic shapes that evoke primordial line art. Here’s Tag as background to “Chill Pill,” a medicine cabinet that blends elements of Modernism with the designer’s brand of spontaneity.
tag is peel-and-stick, no messy glues needed. It’s made of a woven linen texture that reduces glare.
