Landscape Forms Contour: Room for Every Body
Have you ever struggled to slide across and squeeze under an outdoor picnic bench and table? For many, this combination of bench and table becomes an obstacle to comfort.
Landscape Forms addresses this nuisance with Contour, a line of outdoor tables that are weatherproof and ADA-compliant.
Contour’s signature feature is the table base. Available in four powder-coated aluminum legs or a surface-mounted pedestal constructed from either high-performance concrete or cast aluminum, the base design eliminates under-table obstructions while providing an optimal height, width, and depth of knee clearance to ensure that all spaces around the table accommodate wheelchairs.
The base also gives Contour its unique aesthetic. The four legs protrude ever so slightly from table’s edge, making for an expansive feel while aiding ingress and egress. The pedestal bases are like upside-down ice cream cones: “a pill-shaped center column that ends in a robust truncated-cone base for can elegant transition between table pedestal and paving surface.”
Designed by Argentinean-born, New York City-based Ignacio Ciocchini, Contour is suitable for outdoor spaces at hospitals, universities, public parks, or residential space. Everybody is welcome to have a seat at the table!
