Go Ask Alice
Jabberwocky: [jab-er-wok-ee]; n, plural: jabberwockies; a playful imitation of language consisting of invented, meaningless words; nonsense; gibberish.
If a mushroom could speak, what would it say?
Certainly something suiting the spirit of the Alice Lamp‘s namesake fable, something both oddly familiar yet absolutely invented, perhaps a guttural language staccatoed with pips and squeaks, evoking an earthbound yearning.
Gingko‘s lovely little lamp definitely belongs to an uncanny universe: to dark and damp places, with beings watchful and waiting and sentient beyond our knowing, perhaps a single intelligence, connected underground via an infinity of spiraling spindles.
Back in our world, this versatile desk lamp is made of Walnut and White Ash with a frosted milky shade. A simple touch cycles it between seven phosphorescent colors and back again to natural.
Alice Mushroom comes in mini and large. It’s a 2024 UK Gift of the Year winner, and it retails for the modest sum of $45.
