The Wiggle Bench by Sam Klemick undulated right into the editorial theme this week, designs that are simultaneously sinuous and wavelike.

This ripple-effect bench is made of salvaged douglas fir and canvas. It is part of Studio Sam Klemick’s permanent collection.

Especially with the red upholstery seam, it calls to mind a vintage memory: the Mickey Mouse arc that bounces across the Disney lyrics in perfect time at the bottom of a TV screen. Or, the visual path of a rock skipped over a pond.

Klemick was a career knitwear and clothing designer before conceiving her design studio. Currently, Wiggle Bench is in production in Los Angeles. Each one is handmade and made to order.
