Italian lighting giant Flos has created a visual narrative entitled Icons. With photography by Catalan visual artist Daniel Riera and art direction/graphic design by Omar Sosa of Apartamento Studios, the photographs explore a collection of iconic luminaires by Flos.

The twelve lamps include timeless classics and a few newer pieces that have already achieved iconic status. According to Flos, “The colour shots emphasise the timeless beauty of the design objects, while the black and white images capture human presence and interaction, marking the times we live in and the currency of the moment.”

Icons shows off the creative iconography of Flos designs. Images conjure the beauty of the lighting, as well as the wonder of architectural spaces and human connection. “Design is not worn but serves as a powerful intermediary tool between us and the space we inhabit. Icons are tools for contemplating reality,” explains Flos Chief Creative Officer Barbara Corti.
