Bloom Chair by Ricardo Sá
The Bloom Chair by Ricardo Sá, like a tulip, enfolds its occupant in a restful position.
Its separate parts, akin to the petals of a flower, come together to create the whole. The butter-colored upholstery anticipates spring, with its new blooms and vibrant colors.
Like the iconic Eames lounge chair from 1956, the chair’s seat and back are created from molded plywood. And like the Eames lounger, Sá’s chair tilts slightly, supporting the lumbar spine with the addition of a pillow. Its legs differ from the Eames chair in that they are organically connected to the whole, as leaves or roots anchor flowers and plants.
