Baobab by Marc Thorpe for Moroso at NYC X Design
Baobab, pouf contains multitudes in a little package. It’s eco-friendly, hand-crafted, and manufactured in Dakar, Senegal.
The comfortable stump of a stoop takes inspiration from the majestic baobab tree. The local materials for Baobab include repurposed fishing nets and African fabric. Each stool is handwoven, uniquely shaped and colored—no two are alike.
Part of Moroso’s first collaboration with American designers, Baobab, pouf by Marc Thorpe will be showing at Moroso’s SoHo showroom in May as part of NYC X Design. The indoor-outdoor collection also includes designs by Anne Timmerman and David Weeks.
This year marks a big anniversary for Moroso. In 2022, the brand celebrates year 70! Besides Baobab, the Italian brand, a luminary in furniture design, should have more to unveil.
