Ligne Roset’s Pukka is long on Personality
Design firm Yabu Pushelberg picks up where Gaetano Pesce left off with Ligne Roset’s Pukka, a seating and ottoman line that evokes the plush confines and sensuous silhouette of the iconic Up 50.
Pesce’s big, sensuous chair was inspired by the resilience of a sponge—the designer had become fascinated with “the way in which it always sprang back into its original shape.”
A celebration of the encompassing potential of foam, Pukka offers the same springy sense of cushy comfort.
Indeed, the chair and sofa resemble nothing so much as a form-fitting marshmallow, albeit in a pleasing palette of pastel colors.
Pukka achieves its encompassing aesthetic with Yabu Pushelberg’s new Gentle fabric, “a plain, 100% wool stretch velvet—the very stretchiest of our fabric—that clothes Pukka perfectly.”
