Luum Textiles and Suzanne Tick are marrying contemporary technology and artisanal craft in the Loom State Collection—featuring six new textiles that “celebrate the unification of handmade prototypes and large-scale production.”

This is a best of both worlds perspective—the designs feel somehow familiar yet new and innovative. Structured Stripe, for instance, evokes the color blocking of the 70s while playing with custom dyes and offset yarns, for a look that’s “both bold and blended.”

Duo Chrome also re-envisions a familiar motif. A reversible double-weave, this textile offers an element of surprise: the sides are all different colors and completely independent of one another. With a palette of warm blues, reds, and neutrals, Duo Chrome is dynamic and fun, as it creates unexpected pairings while challenging expectations.

Oeuvre is worth the effort as well. A celebration of 20th century textiles, Oeuvre blends wool, silk, nylon, and polyester for a tactile textile that’s durable and versatile, great for vertical uses as well as upholstery.

Rounding out the collection we have Doyenne, a soft, heathered chenille; Homage, a vivid blended wool with a tweed-like texture, and Dispersion, an open weave modeled after the aesthetic of artist Sol LeWitt.
