Cool Curves: The Harbor Stone Desk System
Designer Elizabeth Lowrey and Elkus Manfredi Architects offer their initial foray into product design with the Harbor Stone Desk System, “introducing more humanity to the workplace in a first-of-its kind alternative to traditional orthogonal workplace benching systems.”
Harbor Stone’s hallmark is its pleasant, organic curvature, a shape that resembles those found in nature and, hence, intuitively pleases and energizes users.
There are a number of pragmatic perks as well. The curvilinear shape provides effective acoustics, creating an enhanced sense of privacy while reducing background noise. The Power Beam cabling system delivers power and data seamlessly and efficiently without cluttered wires. And the height-adjustment feature spans from 27” to 45.5”, creating a variety of ergonomic options for users of all shapes and sizes.
Harbor Stone desks contain 25-35% recycled steel. They are pre-engineered for easy installation in any open plan. Contact Harbor Stone to find out more. And see Designer Pages Media for more innovative workstations.
