Two New Rug Collections from Carl Hansen Celebrate Nature
After the success of Woodlines, her first rug collection for Carl Hansen & Son, Danish multidisciplinary artist Naja Utzon Popov is back with two new collections for the Danish furniture manufacturer.
Inspired by the natural environments of Denmark and Japan, the two collections celebrate nature and are designed to complement Carl Hansen’s extensive furniture collection. The two rugs in the Botanica series feature organic, fluid patterns that call to mind the essence of plant life, while the two rugs in the Oceania series capture the dynamic motion of the cracks and fissures found in salt marshes or dried sand.
Each rug is manufactured using wool and sustainable Tencel that has been derived from the fibers of the beech tree, considered one of the most sustainable trees in the forest. The new rugs will be in stores beginning in June.
