The W in Project W by Australian ergonomics brand Gregory stands for Women, a demographic too much ignored in workspace design.

A group of female employees at Gregory came together to design a chair that would accommodate women and smaller people, as well as accommodate men. The result is an inclusive task chair. “Project W is the most important advancement in chair design in the last 20 years, revolutionising seating for over 50% of the population, redefining the standard in an office,” Gregory writes.

The company, which has manufactured ergonomic furniture since 1977, didn’t just group together designers to create Project W. Female employees who worked on this task chair have backgrounds in engineering, marketing, product assembly, science, and procurement.
