Shelter Together with Noaste Noaber
Birdhouses bring joy, especially in spring and summer. When I lived in the Colorado mountains, I looked forward to the end of winter because it meant the arrival of hummingbirds. Their scintillating colors, metallic sheen, and amazing physics—oh, that mesmerizing hovering—seemed too sublime to be real. Unfortunately, the standard birdhouse left much to be desired. Leave it to the Dutch to reinvent the birdhouse into minimalist architecture. Meet Noaste Noaber, a birdhouse so groovy I would be willing to be miniaturized simply so I could call it home!

Designed specifically for sparrows, who “like to nest close to each other,” this double birdhouse by Frederik Roijé puzzles together wood interiors and steel exteriors.

Noaste Noaber is available in standing and hanging versions, so just about everyone can enjoy this “modern birdhouse with an architectural twist.” The birdhouse will rust after exposure to the elements, and sooner or later it will turn that fetching shade of rust.
