Maison&Objet 2025: Cobble Together

Maison&Objet 2025: Cobble Together

Coinciding with our long holiday weekend, Maison&Objet officially wrapped up just yesterday, so this week we’re paying tribute to the best of this annual celebration of high design, beginning with some sumptuous and conspicuously shiny furniture from designer Faye Toogood.

Part table, part stool, and all kinds of beautiful, Cobble is hand-sculpted and high-gloss cast ceramic furniture that bears the distinctive imprint of its maker.

These pieces have a custom feel. The plaster molds are hand-sculpted, thus preserving all the lovely idiosyncracies of human touch.

The name derives from the phenomena of stone made smooth via the turbulence of time: “They are indeed like stones, up from the pavements. No-nonsense objects, durable and smoothly rounded. Yet they have the irregular, expressive contours of nature – or sculpture.”

Cobble’s gentle asymmetries are preserved via a laboratory-grade high gloss glaze finish. The pieces are exceptionally durable, making them suitable for indoor and outdoor use—thus eliciting a smile of equal proportions whether staged atop a wooden floor or perched in an expansive field amid the greenest grass.
