Magic Carpet Ride at BDNY 2024: Molto Collection by Nourison
When I was a child, I loved hotels. My favorite reason? The fantastic carpets. Oh, to have so much color underfoot: tropical jungles, ocean scenes, dinosaur-scapes, expressionisms, geometries—the wonders never ceased! I even loved the wall-to-wall carpet in The Shining with its glamorous 1970s hexagons. Yet my childhood memories pale in comparison to Molto, a new collection presented by Nourison Hospitality at BDNY 2024.
The Molto Collection “captures abundance and intricate detail.” A modern floral pattern I’m seeing in my dreams sprouts fuchsia and pink blooms with pops of purple and yellow. I will visit whatever lounge or lobby chooses this option!
Another Molto pattern resembles drops of paint spreading in water. The company also displayed a more traditional floral carpet with a moody background.
While Nourison exhibited wall-to-wall wonders, the brand also presented unforgettable area rugs. Jai, inspired by the artwork of in-house designer Jai Srivastava, brings to mind spice bazaars. The movement, texture, and edging of Jai create a sense of joyous movement.
