Floating Cloud: Lorentz by Living Divani
Due to its tucked-in feet, the Lorentz modular sofa from Living Divani appears to be floating. For this reason, Living Divani writes, “Lorentz is a cloud.” Designed by David Lopez Quincoces in 2024, this new sofa system commands attention—while lulling users to sleep.
Comfort is intentional: “A base, apparently in mid-air, supports soft cushions, rounded hills with gentle slopes on which to rest undisturbed.” Armrests add aesthetic beauty—and a perfect perch for napping. Living Divani notes, “Its armrests punctuate the seat from time to time, presenting themselves as the perfect geometric support for any type of comfort.”
Upholstered in a wide range of leather or fabric, Lorentz fits perfectly however its dressed. Black leather for a hotel lobby or minimalist loft. White bouclè for luxurious living rooms and escapist spas. Ruby red hide for dark bars and sexy boudoirs.
The modular sofa offers countless configurations, plus optional tables and trays. Living Divani suggests ten compositions, including a double-sided sybaritic splendor. Personally, Composition 10 seems to suggest Absinthe-drinking afternoons (forgive me while I imagine a party of poets imported magically from the late nineteenth century).
