Gruuve by Patricia Urquiola for Moroso
Gruuve is a new sofa system by the fantastically wonderful Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola.
It’s an evolutionary offshoot of Urquiola’s Lowseat assemblage, conceived for Moroso in 2000.
Gruuve is sturdier with a more pronounced rounded profile. It is down-to-earth, literally and figuratively.
The lines of Gruuve are fluid and irregular, articulated and pleasing. It appears foam-ish.
Its ’70s design is a nod to the idea a sofa can be assembled at will.
Gruuve is ideal in public or domestic settings.
The sofa features a traditional seat at the front and an informal “bench” along its back. It’s easy to imagine someone perched there sipping a cup of coffee in conversation with someone standing.
Gruuve is also available in a custom-printed fabric designed by Patricia Urquiola.
