Designed as an homage to the work of the Iconic Ron Arad, Paddy Pike’s Arnardo Collection glistens and gleams with an alien sensibility—the ideal lead-off for our week of futuristic-themed products.

The referenced work of Arad—his ‘D’ A Mirror-Polished Stainless Steel sofa and A.Y.O.R, (“At Your Own Risk”) chair come to mind—traffics in illusion. He originally made the pieces by hand-welding lengths of sheet steel and then meticulously polishing the seams. Here’s the sofa with its pseudo bilateral symmetry.

While Arad seems to relish the odd angle and purposeful misalignment, Pike aims for purity in the curve.

These pieces are meticulously sculpted and painstakingly polished. If these chairs and sofas were a slide (or a bannister), they would be universally praised by schoolchildren for their slipperiness and speed. Just imagine skating across this sofa in stocking feet.

Pieces in the collection include a bench, lounge chair, settee, sofa, loveseat, and this curious creation that appears to be combination public seating/steps, for equal parts amusement and utility.
