Origo Lamp by David Pompa for Line Products
The Origo Lamp appears as a constellation of small planets, each shedding its unique light on those below. David Pompa, who has roots in Mexico and Austria, founded his eponymous lighting brand in Mexico in 2008. The fiorito rock and the minimalist design of Origo Lamp highlight the texture of the materials.
Fiorito is a porous natural stone adorned with small fossil remnants. Origo Lamp combines fiorito spheres and glass orbs. According to David Pompa, “An exploration of an interaction, light shining onto the texture of the volcanic rock, revealing its relief and contour. Sober and logical, both materials create a relationship between light and composition.”
Two spheres hanging on top of each other on a simple black cord, Origo Lamp distills geometry into a composition of shapes. Origo can also be hung in clusters at the same level or scattered at multiple heights, mimicking planets with two moons (like Mars’ Phobos and Deimos).
Suspended from a simple black cord, Origo Lamp celebrates geometry and linearity—simple elements emphasized by Line Products. Line Products creates and represents minimalist furniture and lighting that focuses on lines.
